On November 11, Professor Andrew Crampton, Associate Dean of the College of Computing and Engineering, and Dr. Leigh Fleming, Dean of the Department of Engineering from the University of Huddersfield, led a delegation to visit Fujian Normal University (FNU). President Wang Changping met with the delegation, accompanied by the heads from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, the College of Photonic and Electronic Engineering, and the College of Computer and Cyber Security.
Wang Changping, on behalf of the university, extended a warm welcome to the delegation and introduced the university’s recent reform and development achievements, highlighting its history, comprehensive strength, and international exchanges. He noted that the Sino-foreign cooperative educational institutions jointly established by our two universities have developed a distinctive and advantageous talent cultivation system. He emphasized the importance of maximizing the advantages of Sino-foreign educational cooperation, further expanding the fields of collaboration, and contributing to promoting educational cooperation and exchanges between China and the UK, as well as to cultivating international talents with a global perspective and extensive academic backgrounds.
Andrew Crampton remarked that through joint efforts, the collaborative educational program has achieved remarkable results. He expressed hope that the two universities can further enhance the level of cooperation in education and deepen collaboration in the joint training of master’s and doctoral students, faculty and student exchanges, research collaborations, and joint laboratory development. The aim is to jointly cultivate high-level international talents who meet the needs of the times and possess a global vision.
After the meeting, the delegation visited the university’s history museum.
